What Happened to Canada’s Greener Homes Grant?
The Canada Greener Homes Grant ran from May 2021 to February 2024 and is now officially closed on Natural Resources Canada’s own site, with the final payment deadline of December 31, 2025 already passed. If you already had an approved application in the system, keep working with NRCan directly on your file. If you haven’t applied yet, the federal grant is not an option anymore, but you’re not out of luck: Ontario’s Home Renovation Savings Program is currently offering $100 per ENERGY STAR-certified window or door replacement (plus rebates for insulation, air sealing and heat pumps when bundled), with a program deadline of November 30, 2026. Alda Windows and Doors can help you check what you qualify for today.

Windows and doors are a big part of what makes a house unique. When it comes time to replace your old windows, you can choose windows that fit your personal needs, which will also help your home become more energy efficient! When your windows are in rough shape with wear and tear and need to be replaced, don’t wait to do so. The federal Greener Homes Grant is closed, but Ontario’s current Home Renovation Savings Program can still help offset the cost.
Homeowners can get $100 back per ENERGY STAR-certified window or door when bundled with at least one other qualifying upgrade, before the program’s November 30, 2026 deadline.
